The 2022 edition of the annual Celebration of Hope charitable event surpassed even the wildest expectations of the Court Advocates for Children supporters.

ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON – Court Advocates for Children, the 37th annual Celebration of Hope event took place on December 6th,2022. The aim of this charitable event was to recognize the life-changing advocacy work of our volunteer child advocates and raise money to continue providing advocacy for the Kittitas County children that have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, and abandonment. This year, there were over 185 attendees, 25 volunteers, 92 in-kind donations, and 14 sponsors contributing to the record-setting $106,000 raised.

“We could not believe our eyes when we checked our account balance! It was apparent early in the day – the day of the fundraiser– that together with all our friends and community partners we had exceeded expectations! What happened on that day and into the evening was humbling and gave us so much faith in the sensitivity and sensibility of our community. No one expected this result! Kittitas County, you are the best, we love you! Thank you for your trust and ongoing support. We bow down to you for your generosity, and we promise, like we always do, to spend the money wisely to advocate for safe, permanent homes where the children we serve can thrive!” -Sarah Read, Communications & Development Coordinator

Celebration of Hope was a brilliant demonstration of a community’s commitment to invest in the lives of its most vulnerable population, the children.

The amount raised at Celebration of Hope is made from different sums: ticket sales, donations, event offers, and auction items. The money raised at Celebration of Hope will go towards training, providing necessary support, and continuing education to new and existing volunteer child advocates in Kittitas County. We aim to train about five to seven new child advocates in 2023 and provide advocacy for every child entering dependency in Kittitas County due to abuse, neglect, and abandonment.
