Ellensburg, WA – Court Advocates for Children (CASA) is proud to announce Ann Burnett as our 2024 Volunteer of the Year. Ann has exemplified outstanding dedication and leadership, making a profound impact not only on the lives of the children she serves but also on our CASA program and the broader community.
Joining CASA on December 16, 2021, Ann has demonstrated a commitment that far exceeds expectations. In less than three years, she has served as a steadfast advocate for six children, achieving remarkable outcomes including two children who were adopted into loving families, and two children who were successfully reunited with their families. Ann’s tireless efforts reflect the very heart of CASA’s mission—to ensure every child has a voice and a safe, nurturing environment. Her dedication has truly transformed lives.
Beyond her casework, Ann has contributed significantly to CASA’s growth and impact. She facilitated two critical Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainings, equipping volunteers and staff with the tools to serve families with respect and understanding. Her leadership extended to community outreach efforts at events such as National Night Out and the KCHN Community Event. These initiatives have strengthened CASA’s visibility and fostered invaluable connections.
Ann has also been instrumental in the success of CASA’s annual Celebration of Hope events, providing key support and ensuring their effectiveness as vital fundraising and awareness opportunities.
“Ann Burnett is the embodiment of what it means to be a CASA volunteer,” said Sandra Bankston Executive Director of Court Advocates for Children. “Her compassion, commitment, and leadership inspire all of us. Ann’s contributions have left a legacy, and we are thrilled to celebrate her extraordinary efforts.”
This recognition highlights Ann’s exceptional ability to advocate for children, foster positive change, and advance CASA’s mission. On behalf of everyone at CASA, we extend our deepest gratitude to Ann for her selfless dedication and celebrate her as our Volunteer of the Year.
